All Praise is due to Allah, we praise Him, and seek His help and forgiveness, we seek refuge in Allah, Most High, from the evils of our own selves and from our wicked deeds, whomsoever has been guided by Allah, none can misguide him, and whomsoever has been misguided by Allah, none can guide him, I bear witness that there is no true god worthy of being worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner or associate, I further bear witness that Muhammad is His true slave and Messenger, May Allah, the Exalted, bestow His peace and blessings on the final Prophet Muhammad, upon his good and pure family, and upon all of his noble companions.

Shia.sg was initiated by a group of concerned Muslims who were active in a Facebook group called "Kampung Melayu" which was mainly a platform for Singapore Muslims.

Unfortunately, the Facebook group admitted members from the local Shi'ite community, including their leader, Rosli Hassan, who engaged in spreading misinformation, historical distortion & criticism of
  1. the Sunni creed
  2. the Prophet's Sahabahs (Companions) radhiyallaahu 'anhum ajma'ien
  3. the Prophet's beloved wife, 'Aaishah radhiyallaahu'anha
  4. the renowned Sunni scholars
Attempts to correct, clarify and refute these matters within the Facebook group were responded with derision, slander and hatred towards the Sunni creed, the Prophet's Sahabahs radhiyallaahu 'anhum ajma'ien, the Prophet's beloved wife, 'Aaishah radhiyallaahu'anha and the Sunni scholars. This further escalated into personal insults and mockery towards those who sought to clarfiy, making it an unconducive platform to clarify and refute such perpetuation of hatred towards the Sunni creed and revered figures in Sunni beliefs.

We do not condone any action or behaviour that disrupts religious harmony by disparaging a religion's system of belief and its religious figures. We believe in the rights of each individual to practice their religion, however we hope the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) would review its decision to recognize the Shi'ite belief as an acceptable variant of Islam.

Similar to the Qadianis or the Ahmadiyyah sect which had been categorized as a religion of its own (not a subset of Islam), the key religious tenets of the Shi'ite sect is vastly different from that of the Muslims of Ahlussunnah Wal Jamaah, and the local status quo breeds confusion and conflict; in contradiction to the environment of religious harmony that we seek in Singapore.

Our Objectives

1) To correct, clarify and refute false allegations and hatred by Shi'ites towards the Sunni creed and its religious figures

2) To reveal erroneous, confused and often deviant paths traversed by the Shi'ites by clear refutation of excerpts or articles from their own revered scholars based upon the Qur'an and Authenticated Sunnah along with the understanding & explanations of the Salafush Shalih.

3) To caution Muslims about all forms of shirk, innovations, and philosophy that contradicts the tenets of Islam that forms the basis of Shi'ite beliefs.

4) To caution Muslims about weak & fabricated narrations and doubtful historical sources which are used to create confusion, misinformation and to sow seeds of hatred towards key religious figures in the Sunni tradition
